Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information is collected when you visit this website and how it is used. We follow the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law 13.709/2018) and apply equivalent standards to visitors from other countries.
Information we collect
We do not ask you to create an account and we do not sell anything directly on this site. Two kinds of information may be collected:
- Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your address and whatever you choose to write.
- Technical information. Standard server and analytics data such as browser type, approximate region, pages viewed and time on page. This is aggregate and does not identify you personally.
How we use it
- To answer questions sent to us.
- To understand which articles are read, so we can improve them.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Cookies
Cookies are small files your browser stores when you visit a site. This site uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to load correctly, and analytics cookies that help us understand traffic. Advertising cookies may be set when advertising tools are in use. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work correctly if you do.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. Information is shared only with service providers necessary to operate the site, such as hosting and email, or when required by law.
Your rights
You may request confirmation of what we hold, access to it, correction, deletion or portability. Write to the address in the contact section and we will respond within 30 days.
Third-party links
Articles on this site link to external sources including medical institutions and research publications. Once you follow one of those links, the privacy policy of that website applies, not this one.
Terms of Use
What this site is
Heart Health Research is an independent editorial platform covering research on cardiovascular health, blood pressure and healthy aging. It publishes summaries and commentary on published studies and clinical guidance. It is not a medical provider, a research institution or a government body.
Independence
We are not affiliated with any pharmaceutical company, healthcare provider, government agency or advertising platform, and we do not represent any third-party brand unless stated explicitly on the page in question.
Accuracy and updates
Content is reviewed before publication and reflects the sources available at the time of writing. Research changes. Articles may be corrected or updated without notice, and the publication date shown on each article indicates when it was last reviewed.
Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to interfere with the operation or security of this site.
- Do not reproduce content commercially without prior written permission.
- Do not use any contact channel to send false information or to impersonate another person.
Intellectual property
Text, layout, visual structure and trade names on this site are protected under applicable law. Quotations from third-party sources remain the property of their respective owners and are credited where used.
Limitation of liability
We are not responsible for temporary unavailability, technical failures outside our control, the content of third-party websites, or any decision taken on the basis of information published here.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil, where the publisher is registered.
Medical Disclaimer
This website does not provide medical advice. Content is published for educational and informational purposes only and is not a substitute for diagnosis, treatment or advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read on this site. If you think you may have a medical emergency, contact your doctor or your local emergency number immediately.
On high blood pressure and hypertension
Never stop, reduce or change a prescribed blood pressure medication because of something you read on this site. Uncontrolled hypertension is a leading cause of stroke, heart attack and kidney failure, and these events frequently occur without warning. Any change to an existing treatment belongs to the physician who prescribed it.
No natural compound, dietary pattern or lifestyle change has been clinically proven to cure or reverse hypertension. Research into complementary approaches is ongoing and findings are preliminary in most cases. Where this site reports on such research, it reports what the studies found — not what they prove.
High blood pressure is frequently asymptomatic. Feeling well is not evidence that blood pressure is controlled, and only measurement can establish that.
Several natural compounds interact with antihypertensive medication. Potassium supplementation combined with ACE inhibitors or angiotensin receptor blockers can raise potassium to dangerous levels, and other supplements affect how these drugs are metabolised. Discuss any supplement with your physician or pharmacist before starting it.
Individual results
Where personal experiences or testimonials appear on this site, they describe individual cases. They are not typical, not verified as representative, and should not be read as an expected outcome.
Advertising and affiliate relationships
This site may carry advertising, and some outbound links may be commercial. Advertising does not influence editorial content, and the presence of an advertisement is not an endorsement of the product advertised.
